Sidelines
When we lived in San Francisco we listened to this one radio station, KCSM – The Bay Area’s Jazz Station, 24 hours a day. At home, in the car, on the internet. In the morning, in the afternoon, and before we went to bed. It was Jazz, Jazz, Jazz 24 X 7.
When we moved home to Nova Scotia it was more like Radio Noon Call In and As It Happens. If we wanted music it looked like we were going to have to go out and make it. So we do.

Dr. Weirdbeard
Ain’t nothing like the Blues. Once a month we lay it down with Dr. Weirdbeard (aka Rus Winham) at the Mug & Anchor in Mahone Bay. The Dr. is a fine, fine purveyor of Chicago-style blues with Tom on the drums, Cynthia on backing vocals, Rus on guitar and lead vocals, Art Eaton on bass and Larry Macadam on keys. We’re there the 3rd Friday of every month from 8:00PM to 11:00PM.
The Market Boys. What could be more Down Home than a fiddle player, a jazz guitarist and a tea-box bass? I ask ya. Come on down to the Hubbards Barn Farmers Market any Saturday between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM and get ready to tap your toes to Dragger’s Reel, Rakes of Kildare and Arkansas Traveller. We might even throw in a little Fats Waller and Cole Porter when you least expect!
